The Fishing Bumper Subs is a mechanical jarring tool.
Its main usages are:
1. In the stuck pipe string, release the string through jarring;
2. In the fishing string, help the releasable fishing tool to be released from the fish in the event it becomes impossible to pull the fish;
3. Adjust length of pipe string, utilizing the fishing bumper sub¡¯s stroke;
4. As a ¡°Feed-off¡± tool, it is installed in a cutting string above internal cutter. Assure a smooth operation of the cutter.
The fishing bumper sub consists of top sub, middle body, mandrel, non-extrusion ring, seal protector ring, O-seal ring, knocker; knocker set screw, mandrel body.
Before beginning of the fishing job, the part of free string above the free-point position firstly must be back-off and be tripped out of the hole, and making thus the fop of fish near the free-point position if possible. The closer to free point the bumper sub, the better the jarring efficiency.
In fishing job, the bumper sub is installed above various releasable fishing tool or safety joints. According to requirements, the bumper sub can jar upwards or downwards by different operation methods so as to loose the stuck fish or release the fishing tool from the fish.
